The Aviation Unit is made up of full time and volunteer members that are needed to fly aircraft for:

• Search and rescue
• Surveillance
• Patrol flights
• Marijuana searches
• Investigative transportation
• Aerial photography for investigations
• Mutual aid to assist other agencies

The Aviation Unit assists the Naples Police and Emergency Services, the Marco Island Police Department, the U.S. Customs Service, the U.S. Coast Guard, DEA, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and Florida Highway Patrol when they need mutual aid.
