Using MAP With and Without CCSO Insurance
WITH group health insurance coverage:
The member and covered dependents are eligible to participate in MAP. Claims should be submitted through the group health insurance.
- Five, one-hour visits per calendar year are available at no cost to the member and each covered dependent
- The member or covered dependents must seek the services of a practitioner acting within the scope of their license (i.e. Licensed Consulting Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Licensed Clinical Therapist, Licensed Clinical Counselor, etc.)
- After 5 visits, seeking services of a Participating Provider (in-network) is most cost effective.
- Benefits also include family therapy, relationship and marital counseling and Hospice bereavement counseling.
WITHOUT group health insurance coverage:
Members who do not elect group health insurance are still eligible to participate in the Member Assistance Program.
This benefit is only extended to the member and not their dependents. These claims should be submitted to Meritain Health for payment.

The pressures facing law enforcement personnel and their families are more complex now than at any other time in the history of policing. The need for a member to have an understanding, supportive peer to discuss problems and concerns with, may be well served through the CCSO Peer Support Program. Situations where peer support might be beneficial include, but are not limited to, issues regarding physical and emotional health, personal relationships, family, finance, substance use, emotional/stress, and other personal matters. Peer Support Team members are available for services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Concerned Agency members who feel that a co-worker may benefit from Peer Support services may contact any member of the Peer Support Team to facilitate a follow-up contact.
CCSO Peer Support Team members also manage the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team. CISM includes assisting CCSO members with stress that may result as a catastrophic event, mass casualty event, or Officer Involved Shooting (OIS). This involves both assistance with individuals, as well as group crisis intervention as appropriate. Peer Support Team members are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Agency members needing Peer Support Services are afforded the opportunity to select and contact any of the members of the Peer Support Team at any time.
In most cases, please call CCSO Communications at (239) 252-9300 to get the members’ direct phone number.
