C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance Resource and Education) is a program established by the Collier County Sheriff's Office to assist citizens that have special needs. Due to the increase in our county’s population, as well as the increase in the aging segment of the community, this voluntary program offers many positive, proactive measures to provide the best services to our citizens. There is no fee required to participate.

The program uses information gathered from the participant that is entered into the Sheriff’s
Office computer system. This information is for law enforcement purposes only and can allow
deputies to follow up with participants, refer participants to other resources or programs, provide vital information to all responding agencies and assist law enforcement during emergencies such as a hurricane or a brush fire.

The C.A.R.E. Program improves community policing services and increases the sense of
security among residents. Having pertinent information immediately available can reduce and
eliminate misinterpretations and miscommunications thus fulfilling our goal of “service to others” by providing the most efficient, professional, and courteous citizen-oriented service to the residents of Collier County.

Friends and family members may also refer a person for enrollment. Contact would be made
with the individual to determine if they are interested in participating in the program and
completion of the registration process.
