The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is proud to offer diverse volunteer opportunities for community member involvement. Our volunteers bring an array of skills and talents, fresh perspective, and tremendous commitment to their volunteer roles that repeatedly demonstrate how essential this partnership between our agency and our community truly is.
CCSO volunteers work in a variety of capacities throughout the agency including patrol support, crime prevention education, issuing disabled parking citations, fingerprinting, administrative / clerical duties, assisting detectives, monitoring jail video visitations, translating, and chaplain services to inmates.

The processing for volunteers includes an interview, drug screen, medical exam and background investigation. A polygraph will be required for certain positions.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic and enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety and service to fill the following positions:
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES | GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS |
OFFICE ASSISTANT: | Volunteers are responsible for providing customer service to members of the public who. Responsibilities will include: filing, data entry, organizing, shredding, and answering phones etc. Prefer 2 – 4 hours a week, flexible on days and times. On the job training will be provided. |
DATA ENTRY ASSISTANT: | Volunteers receive, review, and enter data into computer systems or tracking databases according to established procedures. Volunteers ensure accuracy of all data recorded. Volunteers must be detail oriented, can maintain confidential information., have flexible hours. On the job training will be provided. |
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: | Volunteers will assist CCSO deputies with various community and public awareness events (parades, festivals, etc.) This position requires weekend and evening availability. Volunteers should enjoy an interaction with community members and possess good communication skills. |
COMMUNITY PATROL: | This patrol volunteer supplements law enforcement efforts and enhances relationships with the community serving as “eyes and ears” for the Sheriff’s Office. The Volunteer has no law enforcement authority given to them. Volunteers may be called on to assist stranded motorists, check homes of vacationing residents, direct traffic at the scene of a crash, fire, etc. Volunteers will also assist with community outreach events such as National Night Out, Swamp Buggy Races, parades, etc. Shift is flexible but volunteer is requested to work a minimum of 15 hours per month. |
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM |
To be considered for the Internship Program you must complete an application. You must be 16-years-old, you must be currently enrolled in school, and must submit internship requirements from your school or college. All applicants will be subject to a drug test and back ground investigation |
